New Member Experience

The Phi Program – This eight-week new member program enhances the Phi Mu Experience by helping new members transition into Fraternity membership.  The online component includes an orientation, expectations of membership and journal prompts which help our new members begin their lifetime involvement in Phi Mu.  The online modules in partnership with Phi meetings provide new members with the framework for personal, academic, social and professional growth.  

 

Phi Mu greatly values its new members. When a sister accepts a bid to Phi Mu, she is given the status of Provisional New Member, often affectionately referred to as a "Phi". As a Provisional New Member, she participates in many aspects of Phi Mu membership, and it is during this time that she is first taught the value and sacredness of the bond of Phi Mu. The active ladies of Phi Mu do not haze or demean their new members in any way; instead, we choose to demonstrate the love outlined in our creed.
